On the way at last... And on time!!? :-)

Okey, so i was always telling that I'm planning to leave in the month of October, and although most we already probably thinking it was not going to happen - to their and my own surprise, i must admit, i managed to get a ticket for the very last day of October. Big thanks goes out to Timo the ticket hunter!

So my trip starter on 30. October, by taking a Lindaline boat to Helsinki. Although my original plan was to take the last ship to Helsinki that day, and just wait for the morning plane in Helsinki airport, i managed to persuade Liisa to take me in for the night. ( well i didn't actually have to do any persuading) So i took an evening boat ride, just in time for Iiro to pick me up from the harbor. Although i was not hungry ( mom took me to "Kolm sibulat" restaurant just before departing from Tallinn, and i want to add- if i had known that they have so hot waitresses working there i would have visited the place long ago and probably become a regular, since it's so close to my place) the food was good - the meatballs Iiro suggested were delicious even with a full stomach. Iiro and Liisa live in a very convenient location in the city center area, just next to Linnamäki so it was a breeze getting to the airport in the morning. And as it turned out, before one takes a 5+12+11 hour flight to Sydney, one can really use a good night sleep. Thank you Liisa and Iiro!

So my flight with Cathay Pacific started from Helsinki, next stop Milan, then to Hong Kong (my, so far, favorite city - i'm so sad i wasn't able to spend a few days there this time.) and then to Sydney. Layover in Milan was about 2,5h and in HK about 1,5h- very convenient. The flight from Milan was in a massive plane. I had a starboard side isle seat. I wasn't able to negotiate an "emergency exit seat" as Timo has suggested, but the up side was, i ended up sitting with two cool business men from Estonia. They had a lot of cool stories from their trips to Asia - apparently they had been going to HK and other Asian destinations several times a year from the start of the millennia. They were into some very bizarre import export business, latest being exporting broken iPhone displays to China - go figure!? One of the early deals involving export of used Nokia chargers to China - I know! WTF?

On my flight to Sydney, i was boxed in from one side by the lavatory, and from the other side by, what i initially thought was a lesbian couple from Austria ( but were from Netherland instead). They didn't speaks English much, so that's all about them.

CP service was excellent, food was good and you got a menu with options including chicken and fish and vegetarian options.

The plane reached Sydney on time. I had an option to take a train and bus combination to my airBnB host, but i chose to walk instead. It took about 1/2h to reach my accommodation from the airport. Brittany had left the keys to the house on the porch table, but as i was retrieving them I heard a noise from inside, and sure enough, she wasn't out with friends as she had initially planned. Instead she let me in and made a short tour of the house. She is working on a ferry in Sydney and had to go to work early in the morning, so the evening was short, she went to sleep and i took a much needed shower.

@ Sydney airport, tired but still up for a 1\2h walk with the bags:

Ma ei tea kas ma edaspidi kirjutan eesti või inglisekeeles, mõlema õigekiri ja grammatika on mul ilmselt samal tasemel kesine, seda postitust ma alustasin täiesti teadvustamatta inglise keeles. Teadvustasin seda endale alles pärast esimest lõiku, ja siis mõtlesin et, misiganes, emal on vb raske lugeda, aga samas ongi tal motivatsioni vaja et ingliskeelt praktiseerida :)
